Repeat prescriptions

If you are taking regular medication it might not be necessary for you to see the doctor every time you need a repeat prescription. Your doctor will give you a repeat prescription slip. This will enable you to get a further prescription either by handing in your slip at the surgery or by posting it to the surgery. If you wish to have your prescription returned by post, please remember to let us have a stamped, addressed envelope. Please allow at least 48 hours for all prescribing requests.

Please do not use the telephone to make requests for repeat prescriptions. It may be more convenient but it prevents the exchange of more important calls and can occasionally cause errors.

From April 2017 pharmacies and other suppliers will no longer be able to order repeat prescriptions for patients through their own ordering systems.

Instead you will need to order your prescription directly from your GP Practice using ;

Online ordering through smartphone app or computer.
Dropping your repeat prescription request at the surgery.
Posting your repeat request to the surgery.

If your pharmacy collects your prescriptions for you this can continue but you will need to inform them when they are ready to collect.
